PRECAN: Ages 3-5+. CSA approved helmet is required. Hockey or figure skates.
No skating experience necessary. Must be three years of age by September 30th, 2019 and must be toilet trained and willing to skate. Parents do not accompany their skaters on the ice. Children with no previous skating experience must register in PreCan first. Skaters that meet the minimum requirements for CanSkate may be assessed and moved up to the appropriate program.

 

CANSKATE: Ages 5+ (unless recommended). CSA approved helmet is required. Hockey or figure skates.
Skaters must be able to skate the full circumference of the rink forward and know basic stopping and backwards skills. This program is for all skaters wishing to improve their basic skating skills for use in hockey, ringette, figure skating, speed skating or recreation. Skaters progress through 6 skill levels and may be moved to additional skating programs as recommended by coaching staff.

 

CANPOWER SKATE: Ages 6+ (unless recommended). CSA approved helmet is required, stick & gloves mandatory but full hockey/ringette gear is beneficial. Hockey skates.
Skaters must be able to skate the full circumference forward and backward and must be able to stop. CanPower is a high energy program geared to hockey and ringette skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. CanPower is an excellent complement for those skaters playing on hockey or ringette teams. Skaters may be grouped according to skill level. CanSkate Stage 2 recommended as a prerequisite.


GROUP STARSKATE: Ages 6+ (unless recommended). CSA approved helmet is required until they pass Stage 5. Figure skates recommended.
Skaters must have passed their Stage 3-4 badges and be able to work independently on a small-scale basis. This program transitions into the STAR figure skating program. Skaters will be grouped according to skill level and are taught within a group setting.


STARSKATE: Any age as recommended by coaching staff. CSA approved helmet until they pass Stage 5. Figure skates.
Skaters of all ages develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Taught in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system and may choose to participate in skating competitions.


ADULT SKATE: Ages 18+. CSA approved helmet is required unless otherwise recommended by coaching staff based on skating experience. Hockey or figure skates.
This program is focused on promoting sport for life and active life styles! No skating experience required. All skill levels welcome from learn to skate to those looking to rekindle their enjoyment of skating or continue their competitive skating passion. This class will be taught in a group setting based on skill levels. A great way to supplement your current exercise regime or if you’re just looking to try a new activity!
