Pilot Butte Recreation Department - Rules & Regulations
Recreation Centre – Ice/Winter Use
- All rentals must be scheduled and approved through the Town of Pilot Butte Recreation Department.
- All teams must exit dressing rooms 30 minutes after booking has finished. Those who fail to do so will be warned once by Town of Pilot Butte staff. If there is a failure to cooperate, further disciplinary action may be enacted.
- All children must be supervised in all areas of the facility. Town of Pilot Butte staff reserve the right to instruct unsupervised children to stay with their parent/guardian. This is for the safety of everyone using the facility.
- The Recreation Centre is a shared public space, not a playground. No running, roughhousing or tag games are permitted in the lobby, hallways, dressing rooms, spectator viewing areas or anywhere else in the facility.
- No smoking, chewing tobacco or sunflower seeds allowed in the Recreation Center.
- No skateboards, rollerblades or “Heely shoes” are permitted in the facility (unless approval is provided by the Recreation Department). Roller guards are also prohibited.
- No pets allowed in Recreation Center. Certified service animals will be permitted.
- When buzzer is sounded teams must exit the ice surface, closing the gate behind them. No persons may re-enter the ice surface until the ice resurfacer has left the ice and the large gate is closed.
- Spectator heating may be on or off at various times and is cycled regularly based on ice conditions. Heaters may need to be off for extended periods of time, for the safety of the users on the ice and keeping good ice conditions.
- Abuse of arena staff, officials, coaches and other patrons will not be tolerated. Abusive behavior and language will not be tolerated.
- All rink signage must be obeyed.
- Shooting, passing, stickhandling and use of hockey pucks/balls anywhere other than on the ice surface is strictly prohibited. Pucks/balls may be confiscated by arena staff.
- Absolutely no floor hockey in hallways, lobby, dressing rooms, spectator viewing areas or elsewhere. Hockey pucks, balls, balls of tape, hockey sticks or other associated equipment may confiscated by arena staff.
- Alcohol is prohibited in the Recreation Centre unless full licensing and insurance obligations have been met.
- Any damage caused to glass, walls, fixtures, lighting and any other damaged areas may be charged to the user group.
- Anyone in violation of these regulations may be asked to leave the facility. Inappropriate actions or incidents by patrons will be reported to Town Administration. Further disciplinary action may be required.
- The Town of Pilot Butte and its employees do not accept any liability whatsoever for any damages, loss of property or personal injury that may result from use of the Pilot Butte Recreation Centre. Individuals are solely responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may occur.
